Director of Engineering

Senior Director, Engineering Services Facilities Management – Leadership Position. As Senior Director of Engineering, you will delight our Financial Services client through the strategic and operational delivery of engineering services across an Americas real estate portfolio. Overview You will lead a team of 40 union and non‑union Operating Engineers with 4 direct reports, delivering operational excellence for world‑class office and critical environments while ensuring 100% uptime for client business continuity. What Your Day Will Look Like Portfolio leadership and service delivery – drive strategic and tactical excellence, analyze portfolio‑wide performance data, and present optimization strategies. Ensure continuous operation of mission‑critical systems – maintain 100% uptime through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and rapid incident response. Drive predictive maintenance and asset reliability programs – implement condition‑based monitoring and predictive analytics to prevent failures. Lead comprehensive risk mitigation and business continuity planning – develop contingency plans, redundancy strategies, and emergency response procedures. Maintain 24/7 operational readiness and emergency response capability – establish on‑call structures and conduct fail‑over drills. Oversee vendor and service provider performance – manage relationships with OEM partners, contractors, and specialty providers. Operational excellence – establish enterprise‑wide standards and QA/QC processes for consistent delivery and continuous improvement. Safety and compliance – ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local regulations; conduct audits and provide safety training. Performance achievement – drive contractual outcomes and client satisfaction through work order metrics and KPI targets. Financial stewardship – oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and variance analysis. Client partnership and relationship building – maintain strong relationships at all organizational levels and present portfolio analytics. Team development and cultural transformation – create development and succession plans and embed best practices across the portfolio. Integration and collaboration – coordinate internally to deliver a unified OneJLL approach with client workplace teams and landlords. Required Qualifications 8–10+ years of strategic and tactical engineering management for multi‑regional portfolios, including high‑rise buildings and complex facilities. Experience supporting financial services or technology clients with critical systems. Hands‑on knowledge of building systems in critical environments. Proven track record implementing QA/QC programs with audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Undergraduate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related field. Transformational leadership in establishing processes, resource alignment, and governance frameworks. Excellent leadership with recruiting, development, retention, and succession planning. Executive presence and communication skills to build trust across stakeholders. Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills for asset lifecycle analysis. Vendor management experience, including service level agreements and contract negotiations. Proficiency in BMS/BAS, CMMS, DCIM, and advanced analytics/reporting tools. Compliance with JLL and client‑directed policies, audit readiness, and safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or related field).
