A confidential insurance defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles litigation practice. This role is well-suited to a midlevel litigator who wants hands-on responsibility across active defense matters, consistent litigation writing, and the opportunity to build deeper experience in depositions, motion practice, and court appearances within a structured team environment.

THE ROLE

Manage a docket of insurance defense litigation matters with supervision aligned to experience level. Draft and respond to pleadings, written discovery, and discovery-related motions. Prepare for and take or defend depositions, including witness preparation and exhibit organization. Handle motion practice, including legal research, drafting, and supporting declarations. Support mediations and settlement negotiations, including exposure evaluations and settlement documentation. Prepare for hearings and trial, including witness lists, exhibit lists, trial binders, and pretrial filings. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties in a professional, service-oriented manner.

REQUIREMENTS

3 to 8 years of insurance defense litigation experience. Active California bar admission in good standing. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Strong litigation writing skills, including drafting motions and discovery documents. Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize across multiple matters, and maintain organized files.
