Material Handler – Baler / Sorter About the Role We are hiring a Material Handler / Baler‑Sorter to support a busy manufacturing operation in Lancaster, OH. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring the baler, shredder, and sorting area, separating good product from damaged material, and preparing waste materials for recycling. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and comfortable working on their feet in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor baler, shredder, and sorting equipment Sort product and materials to identify good product versus damaged product Feed materials into the shredder for recycling Properly route materials throughout the facility Read and follow production orders, waste tickets, and bale tickets Identify damaged board and separate it from acceptable product Monitor equipment and report issues or safety concerns Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements Maintain a clean and organized work area Practice good housekeeping and safe work habits Identify and report potential workplace hazards Work efficiently while maintaining production and safety standards Perform other production and material‑handling duties as assigned Qualifications Previous material handling, warehouse, production, recycling, or manufacturing experience preferred Ability to read and understand production orders and waste/bale tickets Strong attention to detail when sorting and inspecting materials Ability to recognize damaged versus acceptable product Comfortable learning and operating industrial equipment Strong safety awareness and ability to follow established procedures Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience operating a baler, shredder, conveyor, or similar industrial equipment is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift 30–50 pounds occasionally Ability to push and pull materials as needed Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent bending, twisting, and kneeling Frequent gripping and graspingAbility to perform physical tasks safely in a manufacturing environment Safety Requirements Wear all required PPE Learn and safely operate machine controls Follow all safety procedures and production requirements Maintain good housekeeping throughout the work area Work safely and productively at all times Identify and report unsafe conditions or workplace hazards IND2 #J-18808-Ljbffr Surge Staffing
