Student Event Assistant - Office of Student Engagement (OSE)

Reporting to the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Engagement (OSE), Student Event Assistants will support the goals of the office and the division of Student Success within The New School. This position primarily focuses on logistical support for OSE related events and initiatives, as well as other Student‑Led Events/Programs with occasional collaboration from the Student Activities Board (SAB). Responsibilities Provide onsite event management support during SLI and student‑led events and programs. Participate in recurring student staff meetings and retreats. Assist in the marketing plan, communication, and promotion of Student‑Led programs through the Narwhal Nation and across major social media and communications platforms. Maintain, organize, inventory, and catalog office supplies and storage spaces of the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement across Fanton Hall and the University Center. Cross‑train and work collaboratively with SLI student workers and volunteers when needed. Provide documentation and photography support at campus events and programs (if applicable). Minimum Qualifications Requires a Federal Work‑Study Award. Preferred Qualifications Ability to creatively problem‑solve, multi‑task, and function in a collaborative work environment. Capacity to provide and receive constructive critique. Work Mode: Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have a regular, consistent percentage of time on campus (e.g., 1–4 days per week) and also work some of the time remotely.
