Audit Attorney

Audit Attorney – Cleveland Office We are seeking an Audit Attorney to manage the Firm’s audit response process for client engagements. This hybrid role offers office and home flexibility. Position Summary Do you have corporate experience that includes responding to requests from auditors? This role lets a licensed attorney with audit response experience focus on administrative tasks and manage the Firm’s audit process, using tools such as iManage, InTapp and Excel to ensure timely, accurate responses while preserving client confidentiality. Essential Functions Review audit requests, determine billing, examine timekeepers’ records, and gather necessary documents—including legal files, corporate records, SEC filings, etc.—to complete audits. Communicate with accountants, clients, the Firm’s Audit Committee, the General Counsel, billing personnel and timekeepers regarding audit response specifics. Use iManage, InTapp and other Firm software to create audit request forms and notations, collaborate with departments, legal assistants and paralegals to obtain information, and monitor responses for corrections and testing. Monitor timekeeper responses, revise content as needed, and secure clarification or additional information. Draft and revise audit letters to comply with the Firm’s risk/audit letter policies and procedures. Work with relationship attorneys or reviewing attorneys to finalize audit responses. Assist with additional matters requested by the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of corporate experience, including audit response responsibilities. J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and an active license in Illinois, New York or Ohio. Strong familiarity with the audit process from start to finish, proficiency in iManage, InTapp or similar systems, and MS Office. Ability to articulate complex legal matters clearly, understand underlying principles of audit requests, and exhibit professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal, client‑service, organizational, and communication skills. Effective task prioritization and strong client‑service skills. Salary range: $93,000 to $130,000. Additional compensation includes discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
