Stress EngineerLocation: Wichita, KS / Lafayette, IN (Onsite)Duration: Contract/FulltimeJob Description:Roles & Responsibilities:Utilize hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis and other tools to perform structural stress substantiationPerform fatigue and failure analysisProvide technical recommendations to repair engineers and report-writing skills to thoroughly document analysis methodology, assumptions, and resultsAbility to work with others, train up-and-coming engineers, and review their work.Realize opportunities for continuous improvement and find ways to implement solutions.Required Skills (Technical Competency):BS degree in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering5+ years of experience in Structural Analysis or Stress EngineeringExperience in analysis of composite laminate and metallic components, preferably in aerospace structures.Knowledge and familiarity with allowable damages and repairs associated with metallics and composites, preferable of aircraft structuresProficient with FEA tools, preferably MSC NASTRAN / PATRAN.Proficient with math and data software, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, Mathcad.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PMAbility to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
