Deli Manager

Summary Oversees the Deli operation of the store to ensure that all budgeted financial objectives and departmental product quality and presentation standards are achieved to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all corporate and state sanitation procedures and regulations are met. Supervises and directs the work of Deli personnel within the department. Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Pay Range $20.25 - $32.00 Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day department operations, ensuring proper supervision of staff. Responsible for appropriate scheduling and staffing to satisfy business needs. Ensure all associates adhere to all Federal and State laws, as well as corporate safety/sanitation policies. Hire, train, and develop departmental staff; document performance issues and recommend disciplinary actions. Ensure associates follow company dress code. Ensure each associate provides a high level of fast, friendly, efficient customer service, exhibits C.H.O.P.S behaviors, and adheres to 5S standards. Uphold corporate code of conduct. Monitor payroll, sales, gross profit, CTO, shrink, and inventory levels. Ensure products are displayed per corporate planograms and special programs. Express complete knowledge of department products to customers. Ensure proper shelf and display conditions. Maintain proper stock levels, especially sale items. Ensure proper item rotation. Conform with corporate, Federal, and State signing policies and regulations. Prepare in‑store items consistent with Prepared Foods Program (roasted chickens, side orders, etc.). Maintain cold case logs, hot food logs, and cooling logs per store policy. Perform other related duties assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through to achieve desired results and objectives. Basic literacy. Strong communication skills. Satisfactory performance reviews. Basic computer skills. Education and Experience High school degree or equivalent. 3+ years of related experience. Physical Requirements Exposure to hot environment – occasional 1‑3 hours. Exposure to cold environment – occasional 1‑3 hours. Standing – constant 5‑8 hours. Walking – constant 5‑8 hours. Grasping/finger movement & dexterity (left/right hands) – constant 5‑8 hours. Bending – frequent 3‑5 hours. Twisting – frequent 3‑5 hours. Pivoting – frequent 3‑5 hours. Squatting/kneeling – occasional 1‑3 hours. Pushing/pulling – occasional 1‑3 hours up to 50 lbs. Lifting – frequent 3‑5 hours up to 25 lbs. Lifting – occasional 1‑3 hours up to 50 lbs.
