The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Prepares, seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, hospital cafe, meals on wheels program and special functions for both on and off sites while maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment following all state and local health codes.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HS Diploma
• Ability to speak, read and write English

Preferred:

• One year hotel /restaurant cooking experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time Day

Essential Functions:

Prepares required amount of food to cover meals

* Consistently follows recipes when preparing food

* Frequently tastes food for quality assurance

* Takes temperatures daily following local and state codes

* Stores and labels food properly

* Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedule

* Demonstrates five star standards with staff, patients and customers

* Prepares fresh products daily

* Reviews daily production sheets to properly identify type and quality of food to be prepared

* Minimizes waste and over production

* Rotates food items on an FIFO+A95 basis

* Insures all foods are kept at proper holding temperatures

* Successfully performs batch cooking

* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

* Responsible for daily signage and specials

* Operates other stations when needed

* Attends all department and hospital meetings when scheduled
