Director, Patient Centered Outcomes Research, Oncology

AbbVie seeks a Director to lead patient-centered outcomes research strategy for oncology and other therapeutic areas. The role involves designing and executing evidence generation initiatives to support product registration, reimbursement, and clinical practice through cross-functional collaboration and external stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute global patient experience data strategies aligned with asset strategy across multiple therapeutic areas
• Lead project management for patient outcomes research, including protocol development, validation studies, and regulatory submissions
• Support clinical development integration of patient-centered outcome measures into trial programs and eCOA platforms
• Serve as internal expert on psychometric methods, regulatory requirements, and industry advancements in outcomes research
• Engage with regulatory agencies, payers, and external thought leaders to advance patient-centered outcomes policy and best practices

Requirements

• Advanced degree in psychology, psychometrics, epidemiology, statistics, public health, HEOR, or related field
• Minimum 7 years pharmaceutical industry or consulting experience in patient experience data research
• Expertise in clinical outcome assessment, patient-reported outcome development, and psychometric validation
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and developing patient-centered outcomes from conception through regulatory negotiations
• Subject matter expertise in outcomes measurement strategies and patient-focused drug development
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and external stakeholder engagement capabilities
