Transportation Technician II/Inspector I

Responsibilities Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications. Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date. Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified. Assists in on-site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and at least 1 year of construction experience. All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements. Read and understand plans and specifications. Recognize, document, and escalated field issues. Calculate pay quantities. Understand change conditions. Understand Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills at an intermediate level. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Associate degree in Construction Management.
