W2 Contract

Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid 3 days a week from the office)

Job Description:

• Build data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow.
• Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
• Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention.
• Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Working cross-functionally to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones.
• Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL & MySQL Database Administration/ Engineering
• Hands-on experience in Cloud technology (AWS), Python, bash, Unix and Linux.
• Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills
• Be available for on-call support as needed.
• Preferable hands-on experience in Data built tools (DBT) and monitoring like Datadog.
• Local in San Antonio, and work in the office 3 days per week.
