Job Title Mechanical Engineer III Location Perry, OH Type Contract Compensation $52.00 - DOE Contractor Work Model Onsite – onsite Hours 40 hours/week Security Clearance Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions Overview System One is seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Perry, OH. This role is part of a team working on a nuclear project. Responsibilities Work on planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment. Complete project specific objectives on time, under direction of Sr. Mechanical Engineer; receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Assist mechanical designers and drafters in developing the structural design of equipment and piping systems using computer-assisted design (CAD) and 3D design software. Research, design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions. Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. Power Plant, Process, and/or Heavy Industrial Design experience. Pipe Stress Analysis. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Complex Problem Solving. Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written). Critical Thinking. Judgment and Decision Making. Attention to Detail. Strong desire to learn. Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions. FE and PE or willingness to obtain both. Energy and Chemical and/or Power Design Engineering Experience.
