Pharmacy Manager

Overview Collaborative contributions by the PHARMACIST-PIC are essential to our success, including working with various departments within Pharmacy as well as other divisions, patients and partners. The PHARMACIST-PIC contributes to the mission by presenting a friendly demeanor, a helpful voice and attitude to patients, clients and customers seeking services, requesting prescription transfers, or filing grievances or complaints. The role provides a high level of clinical skills and knowledge to care for patients, helping them maintain a sustainable quality of life and improve overall health, while supporting the success of the mission and contributing to society. The PHARMACIST-PIC handles incoming calls and greets patients in the Pharmacy, acting as a problem solver and offering a calming influence in stressful situations. The PHARMACIST-PIC enhances the experience of other Pharmacy employees by being friendly and helpful, offering assistance when needed, and providing feedback to management about service improvements. The PHARMACIST-PIC adds consistent value to the Pharmacy Team by adapting to various situations with ease and flexibility. Responsibilities Provide friendly, helpful interactions with patients, clients and customers seeking services, information, and prescription transfers. Handle incoming calls and greet patients in the Pharmacy; act as a problem solver and maintain a calming influence in stressful situations. Support other Pharmacy staff through collaboration, feedback, and assisting with workflow improvements. Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems and procedures; participate in rotating assignments as needed. Supervise and ensure consistent service levels aligned with organizational standards and contracts. Provide “gold standard” customer service and participate in training and certification as appropriate. Enroll new patients into services, support patient retention in care, monitor competitors and market effectiveness. Participate in programs and services that promote adherence to therapy and coordination with providers and referral sources. Document patient encounters thoroughly to maintain continuity of care among Pharmacy team members and providers. Engage in community activities and contribute to the organization’s mission and values. Experience, Education, Licenses and Abilities Current Pharmacist license (in the State of employment). American Academy of HIV Physicians Certification for Pharmacist (AAHIVP) current or obtained within 18 months of employment. Data input skills and experience with pharmacy systems; typing and familiarity with Windows PC applications. Ability to read and interpret prescription documents, policies, procedures and guidelines; write routine reports and entries in computer systems. Effective spoken English; bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable; Creole in some geographies. Intermediate skills to calculate days’ supply, dispensing and billing cycles, discounts and pricing. Reasoning skills to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions. Contributions to Safety in the Workplace Adhere to safety measures and guidelines for activities such as standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, reaching, climbing, kneeling and crouching. Lifting or carrying items up to 25 pounds is allowed. Maintain a safe, neat work area, answer phones promptly, provide unscheduled services when needed, maintain preventive services for equipment, and adhere to shift schedules to support a safe, efficient workplace and consistent patient service.
