Mammography Technologist

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients in our community-focused healthcare system. Responsibilities include performing mammograms, ensuring patient comfort and safety, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following established imaging protocols and MQSA/ACR guidelines. Position patients accurately and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality, diagnostic images. Verify patient identity, review relevant clinical history, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort. Maintain patient safety and privacy, applying radiation safety principles and ALARA standards. Perform daily and periodic quality control tests on mammography equipment and communicate any equipment issues promptly. Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure proper labeling and image management. Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other technologists to support efficient patient flow and coordinated care. Assist with compliance for mammography accreditation, regulatory requirements, and SPRHC policies. Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients, addressing questions and concerns professionally. Participate in ongoing education, training, and performance improvement initiatives within the imaging department.
