Senior Manager, Inventory & Supply Planning

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Inventory & Supply Planning to own forecasting, supply planning, replenishment, and inventory performance across international distributors, big-box retail, specialty retail, and DTC.

You’ll build and run a coordinated global planning process that reflects each channel’s demand patterns and operating requirements. This role carries meaningful responsibility for product availability, customer commitments, and cash invested in inventory.

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, Operations, Finance, and leadership, you’ll assess current processes, build the systems we need, and drive decisions through execution.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City.

\n

What You’ll Own

\n

\n

Planning Systems and Processes

\n

\n
• Assess and improve our forecasting, inventory, and purchasing processes.
\n
• Build and maintain an integrated SKU-level model connecting demand, inventory, customer commitments, production, inbound shipments, and replenishment.
\n
• Establish inventory targets, safety stock policies, and purchasing parameters by product and channel.
\n
• Implement a consistent planning cadence with clear inputs, decision deadlines, owners, and follow-through.
\n
• Keep models and processes accurate, documented, and scalable.
\n

Demand Forecasting Across Channels

\n

\n
• Own forecasts across international distributors, big-box retail, specialty retail, and DTC.
\n
• Incorporate sales history, sell-through, order patterns, seasonality, promotions, launches, and distribution expansion.
\n
• Separate inventory builds and one-time orders from recurring demand, accounting for stockouts that distort sales history.
\n
• Challenge assumptions with Sales and Marketing and maintain an agreed demand plan.
\n
• Measure forecast accuracy and bias, investigate variances, and improve results.
\n

Supply Planning and Purchasing Execution

\n

\n
• Translate forecasts into purchasing and production requirements with specific quantities and timing.
\n
• Account for manufacturing and transit lead times, capacity, minimum order quantities, order multiples, and existing commitments.
\n
• Drive approved plans through execution with Production and Operations, tracking orders, production, and receipts.
\n
• Adjust plans as demand or delivery timing changes and communicate risks early.
\n
• Recommend actions when supply is constrained, including allocation changes, expedited shipments, and revised purchasing.
\n

Inventory Management and Replenishment

\n

\n
• Own replenishment and inventory targets by SKU, channel, and warehouse.
\n
• Project availability and weeks of supply to identify shortages and overstocks early.
\n
• Balance major account commitments with ongoing replenishment needs.
\n
• Drive stock rebalancing and transfers with Operations and fulfillment partners.
\n
• Recommend allocations based on customer commitments, channel requirements, and business priorities.
\n
• Execute plans to reduce aging and excess inventory with Sales and Marketing and adjust future purchasing.

Performance and Cross Functional Accountability

\n

\n
• Track availability, fill rates, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, weeks of supply, aging, and inventory investment.
\n
• Lead planning reviews focused on decisions, risks, and actions.
\n
• Explain tradeoffs between service levels, inventory investment, and supply costs.
\n
• Resolve discrepancies across planning models, ERP systems, and warehouse reporting.
\n
• Follow agreed actions through completion and measure their impact.
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n
• 7+ years of progressive planning or inventory management experience, including ownership of the planning process.
\n
• Direct planning experience across international distributors, big-box retail, specialty retail, and DTC. All four channels are required.
\n
• Experience managing substantial volumes in a complex global consumer products business, with a strong understanding of channel-specific demand and operating requirements.
\n
• A demonstrated record of building planning systems and running them through purchasing, replenishment, and inventory execution.
\n
• Experience establishing processes in a growing business with limited resources.
\n
• Deep understanding of forecasting, inventory policies, overseas manufacturing, supply constraints, and working capital.
\n
• Advanced Excel and strong Google Sheets skills, including integrated planning models.
\n
• Experience with ERP and inventory planning systems. Cin7 familiarity is a plus.
\n
• Practical use of AI tools, including Claude, and automation, with sound judgment about validating results.
\n
• Strong decision-making, communication, and cross-functional accountability.
\n
