JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for operating the concession stand during events and activities. The primary locations are Foster Creek Park, situated at 206 Foster Creek Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445, and Carolyn Lewis Field, located at 380 Coleridge Drive, Summerville, SC 29486.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Prepare and serve food and beverages to patrons, following health and safety regulations.
• Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and provide accurate change.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the concession stand, including food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Restock inventory as needed, including food, beverages, and supplies.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to all patrons.
• Handle customer inquiries and professionally resolve any issues or complaints.
• Monitor and manage food and beverage inventory, and report low stock levels to the supervisor.
• Assist with setting up and closing down the concession stand before and after events.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in the food service/restaurant industry preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required within 90 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to provide customer service to include problem solving and dispute resolution when necessary.
• Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide quality, courteous customer service, to include handling difficult customers.
• Ability to handle stress and work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in operating cash registers and handling cash transactions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This work constantly requires hearing, vision, talking, and fine dexterity. Frequently requires handling/grasping, sitting, standing, and walking/running. Occasionally requires carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting, and bending. Medium strength demands include exerting up to up to 20 pounds frequently and 20-50 pounds occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


The work is performed in a concession stand environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and odors from food preparation. The employee is expected to maintain a clean and safe work area.

MENTAL DEMANDS

The role requires handling time pressures, dealing with customer inquiries and complaints, frequent change of tasks, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
