This role offers the opportunity to work on premium financial platforms, driving reliability, automation, and innovation at scale.As part of our DevOps/SRE team, you will play a key role in designing, building, and operating resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports our critical business applications.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with development, operations, and security teams to design and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutionsBuild and maintain automation frameworks for deployment, scaling, and observabilityDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines, release strategies, and recovery mechanismsContinuously improve system performance, availability, reliability, and security postureProvide end-to-end ownership of mission-critical platforms, including production support and root-cause analysisProactively monitor systems using observability tools to identify and address performance and reliability improvementsLead or contribute to incident response, triage, and resolution with a focus on rapid recovery and preventionSupport deployment activities and manage implementation issues through to resolutionDrive adoption of modern engineering practices, tools, and processes to enhance delivery and operational efficiencyAnalyze complex technical issues and recommend solutions aligned with business impactEnsure compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirementsParticipate in an on-call rotation to support production systemsQualifications & Experience5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles in hybrid (on-prem and AWS) environmentsStrong experience with AWS services (IaaS, PaaS, RDS, observability tools) and Infrastructure as Code (CDK / TypeScript preferred)Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, YAML)Strong experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, and CloudWatchProficiency in scripting and development using Python, Bash, and/or JavaScriptExperience implementing automation-first solutions across infrastructure and application layersSolid understanding of security and compliance practices within regulated industries (financial services preferred)Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub preferred)Working knowledge of ServiceNow and ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Configuration Management)Strong experience with RHEL systems administration and clustering technologies (e.g., Veritas Cluster)Proven ability to support and operate large-scale, mission-critical systemsCore SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and documentation skillsAbility to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to coach and mentor team membersData-driven decision-making mindsetDeep understanding of IT operational processes, monitoring, logging, and alerting standardsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred)Additional InformationExperience in the financial services industry is requiredOccasional travel may be requiredHybrid work model: Minimum 3 days per week in-officeWhy Join Us?You’ll be part of a team that:Owns and operates high-impact, enterprise-critical platformsEmbraces automation, modern engineering practices, and continuous improvementValues innovation, collaboration, and operational excellenceSalary:$70,000.00 - $150,000.00Pay Type: SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
