Senior SFCC Architect & Platform Lead (Remote)

Job Title: Salesforce Commerce Cloud Technical Architect Job Location: Remote / Scottsdale, Arizona Responsibilities Act as overall technical owner of the SFCC‑based digital commerce platform, responsible for its architectural health and continuous evolution. Own the end‑to‑end solution architecture spanning SFCC backend, the PWA React storefront, and all integration interfaces to ensure a unified scalable design across the ecosystem. Define technical standards, design patterns, and best practices for the platform; make key architecture and design decisions that align with long‑term business and technology goals. Lead the technical delivery of new e‑commerce features from initial design through deployment, ensuring solutions are built in line with architecture standards and are robust and secure. Drive platform evolution by planning and overseeing Salesforce Commerce Cloud upgrades and adopting new platform capabilities or third‑party tools. Ensure the reliability, performance, and stability of the platform by embedding non‑functional requirements such as load monitoring and security in the design of all solutions. Enable business agility by implementing a Page Designer component strategy, empowering business‑content teams to create and modify pages in SFCC with minimal developer involvement. Provide leadership in production operations, guiding L2‑L3 support teams through critical e‑commerce incidents (P1, P2, P3) and ensuring timely recovery, thorough root‑cause analysis, effective problem management, and permanent fixes. Mentor and guide development team members, performing code reviews and technical oversight to ensure adherence to best practices and high code quality across the platform. Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating business objectives into technical solutions and ensuring clear communication of complex ideas. Oversee technical governance, reviewing major code changes and system enhancements to ensure compliance with architecture guidelines, security standards, and scalability requirements. Coordinate closely with development, QA, and support teams to ensure a smooth post‑go‑live support plan, knowledge transfer, and proper documentation. Stay up‑to‑date with Salesforce Commerce Cloud’s product roadmap and emerging technologies in the e‑commerce space, proactively evaluating and recommending new tools or approaches to maintain technological excellence. Qualifications & Skills Expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) architecture and development with broad knowledge of e‑commerce platforms and best practices. Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React and JavaScript, and headless architectures, with a strong understanding of integration frameworks and APIs (REST, GraphQL) to connect SFCC with external systems. Strong knowledge of performance optimization, site reliability engineering, and scalability strategies for high‑traffic commerce sites. Experience in defining technical standards and architecture guidelines, with a track record of making key design decisions for complex systems. Excellent technical leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide development teams and coordinate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders. Compensation The salary range for this position is $120,000–$150,000 annually. Variable compensation is included, such as a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, performance, and internal equity.
