Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Only candidates with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience will be considered if they are first-time travelers. Description: The Registered Nurse will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care. Candidates will deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, and compassionate communication, the RN will create the safest patient environment. The department receives a high volume of patients daily, with a focus on trauma, stroke, and burn cases, among others. Patient ratios are based on clinical areas and acuity, with a range from 3:1 to 6:1. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including ED Techs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and critical care pharmacists. Technology used in the department includes EMR, IV pumps, and monitoring systems. The Registered Nurse may float to the ED Transition Care Unit when necessary.
