Chemical Operator

Job Title This position is responsible for producing and packaging finished silica gel products per customer specifications from incoming raw materials. Operate the process in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Monitor the process through manual and/or automated control panel adjustments Make necessary adjustments (physical and mathematical) to the process to maintain quality product and output. Perform lab testing for in-process and finished products Document all test results, process parameters and adjustments and environmental regulatory requirements Perform all packaging requirements including filling, palletizing and warehousing of finished product. Operation of forktruck to include loading and unloading of trucks. Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements. Comply with company policies and site work rules. Perform needed housekeeping functions Complete environmental data gathering, as needed Other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Ability to learn and comprehend manufacturing processes. Willingness to learn new skills, as needed. Ability to assist others in completing required tasks. Work safely and abide by all safety rules and requirements. Knowledge, Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Basic mathematical abilities and skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, and Word). SAP and PLC experience is desired but not essential. Experience with lab testing equipment and general lab safety. Previous chemical manufacturing/warehousing experience (2 years). Behavioral & Job Competencies Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
