Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring at least 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience and current OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Unit typically runs 1:2 patient ratios in a 36-bed unit
• Care involves telemetry, drips, and ventilator management
• Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• 36- or 48-hour shift options available
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• May float within the hospital or to nearby Premier Health facilities including South Campus (Centerville) and North Campus (Englewood)
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience required with A-lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws
• Experience required with Impella, post cardiac surgery care (direct and non-direct from OR), pre/post cardiac cath intervention, and PA line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travel experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to CVICU patients, including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and interpret/manage dysrhythmias
• Perform respiratory care duties including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Candidates must not have current or prior license disciplinary action
• Previous perm/PRN employees of Premier Health or agency staff not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
• Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submittal with no changes after offer
