ABBA Roller is seeking a Precision Grinder Tech 2  to support the finishing and precision grinding of industrial rollers and wheels. This role is responsible for operating grinding and polishing equipment to achieve required product dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes while maintaining quality and production standards. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing or machine operation experience and a strong attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Independently operate grinding and polishing lathes to remove excess material and achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes, including making machine adjustments as required to meet tight tolerances. Perform all work in accordance with work instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
• Perform setups, indicating, change tooling / grinding wheels, establish offsets, radius, angles, chamfers, and other tasks as needed to prepare the machine for production.
• Load and unload rollers, wheels, and components onto grinding equipment using proper lifting and handling techniques.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify product dimensions and quality requirements.
• Ability to understand existing CNC programs, make basic edits or adjustments, and monitor key machine parameters for accuracy.
• Understand principles of grinding wheel selection, dressing, speeds/feeds, coolant, and their impacts on part quality.
• Monitor machine performance and identify defects, quality concerns, or equipment issues such as taper, chatter, poor surface finish, burning, dimensional variance, and other out-of-spec conditions.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality records.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to overall production goals.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2–3+ years of CNC manufacturing, machine operation, or grinding experience preferred.
• Experience operating grinding lathes, polishing equipment, or similar manufacturing machinery. Experience with Siemens CNC controls is a plus.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic understanding of precision measuring tools and inspection methods.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout an 8+ hour shift.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.
