What You'll Be Doing

As a Cook II, you'll play an important role in executing the day-to-day culinary experience across Medinah's kitchens.

Prepare. Execute menu items according to recipes and build sheets while maintaining established portion and presentation standards.

Own Your Station. Properly set up and maintain hot and/or cold line stations and stay prepared throughout service.

Deliver Quality. Evaluate prepared foods to ensure they're properly cooked, seasoned, portioned, and presented.

Stay on Pace. Prepare food in a sanitary and timely manner while balancing multiple priorities during service.

Keep It Organized. Maintain clean and organized kitchen, walk-in cooler, storage, and work areas.

Work Safely. Follow all food handling, sanitation, equipment, and workplace safety standards.

Be a Teammate. Communicate, collaborate, and step in where needed to help the entire kitchen succeed.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Experience matters, but so does your willingness to continue learning.

We'd love to see:

• At least two years of experience working as a Cook in the restaurant industry.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• Experience following recipes, build sheets, portion standards, and presentation expectations.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Food Handler Certification as required by the State of Illinois.

Culinary degree or formal training? That's a plus, but it's not the only way to build strong culinary skills. We value hands-on experience, too.
