The Program Manager at the Tempe campus plays a key role in creating, coordinating and continuously improving campus visit and recruitment experiences for prospective students, families and groups. As a member of the Recruitment Events & Campus Visits team, this position provides leadership for the Tempe campus visit experience and the Devils’ Advocates Student Leadership program. The Program Manager works collaboratively with Admission Services leadership, academic units, university partners, student leaders and campus stakeholders to deliver welcoming, engaging and personalized experiences that support student recruitment and enrollment goals.

Based at the Tempe campus, the Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of assigned campus visit programs, including Sun Devil Day, referral visits and group visits. This position takes ownership of the visitor experience from planning through execution and assessment, ensuring programs are well-organized, aligned with REC and Admission Services priorities, and responsive to the needs and expectations of prospective students and their families.

The Program Manager is expected to identify opportunities to enhance the campus visit experience through data, visitor feedback, emerging trends and collaboration with campus partners. This position requires a highly organized, solution-oriented professional who is comfortable making decisions, managing competing priorities, solving problems in real time and taking ownership of the recruitment experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong relationship-building, communication and project management skills and a commitment to creating experiences that help prospective students see their place at ASU.

Essential Duties:

• Serves as the supervisor for the Devils’ Advocates Admission Services Student Leadership program at the Tempe campus, and supports the training, professional development, membership growth and retention plans for the student program.
• Creates engaging experiences with student workers and creates connections as a mentor.
• Coordinate and execute campus visits and recruitment events at the Tempe campus, including Sun Devil Day, Transfer Day, and other assigned programs.
• Coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of subordinates, both student staff and professional staff.
• Coordinate activities of a program with interrelated activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
• Coordinate group visits for the Tempe campus.
• Collaborate with university staff (both academic and non-academic), outside/community agencies, and students for all campus visit and event processes to facilitate objectives of the program.
• Assist with the coordination referral visits in partnership with the recruitment team, ensuring personalized and seamless experiences for prospective students and families across all campuses.
• Ensure the goals and objectives for campus visits and events are accomplished in accordance with Admission Services, Academic Enterprise Enrollment and ASU priorities, time limitations and funding limitations.
• Develop and recommend new or revised program goals and objectives.
• Manage the Future Sun Devil Welcome Center facilities at the Tempe campus.
• Monitor expenditures related to assigned programs throughout the year to ensure expenditures are spent efficiently, effectively and appropriately.
• Maintain and administer databases relied upon to create a successful campus visit or event.
• Represents the University through presentations at campus visit and event activities.
• Assist Tempe Enrollment Services staff as needed.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule in order to coordinate and attend evening and weekend events as applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Drives University vehicle and/or cart to campus site. Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
