Senior Accountant

ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to support a fast-paced Finance and Operations Accounting team within a dynamic manufacturing environment in Waukesha WI . This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys supporting complex manufacturing, inventory, and supply chain accounting processes. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting and analysis related to metal purchasing, freight activity, inventory costing, and vendor claims. This individual will partner closely with Sourcing, Plant Controllers, Pricing, and Operations teams to support financial reporting, variance analysis, reconciliations, and operational accounting initiatives. Job Description Accounting & Financial Operations Ensure timely and accurate accounting for metal and freight-related activities throughout the month Voucher and validate metal receipts while researching and resolving discrepancies related to pricing, purchase orders, or receipt issues Prepare and post monthly journal entries including price adjustments, rebates, tariffs, accruals, and inventory-related true-ups Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close activities Variance Analysis & Reporting Prepare metal price variance (PPV) analysis to support customer pass-through and pricing discussions Analyze and present findings related to PPV, vendor claims, freight activity, and utilities Lead recurring review meetings with internal stakeholders regarding claims and pricing variance analysis Prepare monthly reporting decks and financial summaries for leadership teams Manage mill and vendor claims, including tracking, collections, follow-up, and reporting Review and process freight invoices and accruals while investigating discrepancies Communicate directly with vendors, procurement teams, and plants to resolve payment or shipping issues Coordinate resolution of incorrect shipping notification transmissions and related inventory discrepancies Cost Accounting & Inventory Support Enter and maintain metal coil receipts for outside processors Support standard cost setup and revisions for raw materials and manufacturing operations Assist with cost accounting activities and inventory-related analysis Reconcile utility invoices and distribute reporting analysis to plant locations Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sourcing, Plant Controllers, Pricing, Procurement, and Operations Accounting teams Support ad hoc accounting assignments, operational analysis, and process improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Must Have Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 3+ years of accounting experience Experience in manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting, or supply chain accounting environments preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively Nice to Have Qualifications Experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems Exposure to inventory costing, PPV analysis, or freight accounting Experience working with manufacturing plants or operations teams Familiarity with vendor claims management or procurement support Background in cost accounting or operational finance analysis #J-18808-Ljbffr Educated Solutions Corp
