Qualifications:• Active Georgia Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field• Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills• Ability to create individualized instructional materials using adaptive technology• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Primary Responsibilities:• Provide direct specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success and accessibility• Adapt and modify curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility• Utilize and teach assistive technology to enhance student independence• Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for classroom modifications• Advocate for student needs and foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
