This position will be based in our Westport, CT office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in hands on payroll processing. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated payroll professional to grow their career while contributing to a high-performing organization.About the Role As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations for our U.S. employees. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, reconcile payroll accounts, troubleshoot system issues, and serve as a key partner to internal teams and employees. Your expertise will help enhance our payroll systems and processes, contributing directly to operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. Ensures all communications and documentation are managed on a strict need to know basis and in compliance with company policies and ethical standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Process regular and off cycle U.S. payroll, including collecting inputs, performing calculations, and ensuring timely, accurate payments.Ensure all payroll transactions comply with internal policies, federal and state regulations, and tax requirements, including timely tax payments and filings.Serve as a backup to team members and support knowledge sharing across the payroll function.Maintain and enhance process documentation; recommend improvements to boost accuracy, efficiency, and system optimization.Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly and professionally to employee and stakeholder inquiries.Partner with cross-functional teams to support payroll-related initiatives, reporting, and projects.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent payroll-related education/training5–7+ years of hands-on payroll processing experienceStrong understanding of multijurisdictional payroll tax laws and regulationsWorking knowledge of accounting principles related to payrollDemonstrated ability to audit and reconcile payroll data for accuracy and complianceAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines effectivelyPreferred QualificationsExperience with Workday PayrollFPC certification (Fundamental Payroll Certification)Cumming Group is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity in its personnel policies and practices. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
