Construction Heavy Equipment Operator – Concord, CA – Contract to Hire (Temp to Hire). Positions available: 2. Shift: 1. Our client is a fully integrated environmental construction company delivering turnkey self‑perform construction solutions to environmental challenges in soil, vapor, air, and water (groundwater, stormwater, water/wastewater). They serve public and private‑sector clients with service lines including soil and groundwater remediation, decommissioning/demolition, sensitive habitat/waterway restoration, and water/wastewater/air pollution treatment. Purpose of Role This role involves operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and front‑end loaders at an environmental remediation site. Operators may use CAT or John Deere controls, perform minor maintenance, and repair as needed. Primary Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment safely with precision and efficiency. Maintain continuous attention to detail and safety during long periods of operation. Recognize equipment limitations, including load weights, to avoid overloading or off‑center gravity. Qualifications 4+ years of work experience on civil projects. 5+ years experience as an equipment operator. Proven experience operating excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and front‑end loaders. High school diploma or GED. Current 40‑Hour HAZWOPER and 8‑Hour HAZWOPER refresher. Training and certification to operate the assigned equipment. Ability to read grading plans and cut and fill stakes. Ability to travel to local project sites. Team play ability and adaptability to changing conditions. Pay Up to $54.00 per hour, DOE. #J-18808-Ljbffr
