Senior Scientist, Biology

Xaira Therapeutics seeks a Senior Scientist in Biology to lead preclinical immunology research using primary human and mouse immune cells. The role involves designing studies, analyzing disease mechanisms, and collaborating cross-functionally to advance therapeutic programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies investigating disease biology and target validation
• Establish human and mouse tissue cultures and perform immune profiling and functional assays
• Conduct high-parameter flow cytometry and molecular analyses including qPCR and RNAseq
• Translate experimental findings into actionable insights for cross-functional teams
• Identify knowledge gaps and critically evaluate novel targets to guide program direction

Requirements

• PhD in Immunology or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with primary human and mouse immune cells
• Strong expertise in high-parameter flow cytometry design, execution, and analysis
• Track record of first-author publications and scientific presentations
• Proven ability to independently plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments
• Comfortable integrating AI tools into daily research work
• Excellent organizational skills and clear scientific communication abilities

Compensation: $140,000-$170,000 base salary annually
