Controls Technician I

The Controls Technician will support Shoals' Controls Engineering team by building, wiring, testing, and maintaining industrial control systems used throughout the manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with Controls Engineers to fabricate and implement new control systems, troubleshoot production equipment, and ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications. On a daily basis, the Controls Technician will diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues, provide technical support to maintenance and production teams, and assist with controls improvement projects aimed at maximizing equipment uptime and reliability. They will also document troubleshooting activities, communicate equipment concerns and resolutions, prioritize critical repairs, and uphold safety, quality, and operational excellence standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude who can work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, and production personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ years of experience in industrial controls/maintenance
- 1+ years of experience troubleshooting controls, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or mechanical systems
- High School Diploma or GED
