Field Service Technician - Northern Virginia

Field Service TechnicianThe Field Service Technician is the face of Chemstar WATER to our customers. You will maintain and optimize cooling systems, boilers, cooling towers, potable systems, direct evaporative cooling equipment, and heat exchangers, ensuring water quality and equipment uptime. We dedicate 1% of profits and 1% of employee time to our local communities, and we invest heavily in employee growth, whether the path is individual contributor to manager, technical to commercial, or subject matter expert.What You'll DoExecute the scope of work for each customer site, planning visits with the right PPE, parts, and chemicalsTest, analyze, and document water samples in the Chemstar online reports app, adjusting chemical feed rates as neededService and maintain equipment, including pumps, chemical tanks, controllers, boilers, and cooling towersBuild relationships with customers at every level, from operators to decision-makers, identifying improvement opportunities and growthManage chemical inventory at customer sites to minimize delivery frequencyFollow all safety protocols at Chemstar WATER and customer locationsSubmit service and lab reports within 24 hours, respond to communications within one business day, and address missed services within 48 hoursMaintain a clean, professional company vehicle and keep your digital calendar currentWhat Success Looks Like100% testing and reporting compliance, strong customer relationships across every account, accurate documentation that supports proper billing, and clear communication of risks when customers delay recommended actions.What You BringA 2 year industrial degree or 3+ years of water treatment or field service experienceStrong problem solving in ambiguous situationsOpenness to feedback and a drive to learnFamiliarity with Association of Water Technologies testing standards, or willingness to learn, plus basic plumbing and electrical skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationAbility to lift 50 lbs, work in hot environments, and climb ladders to rooftopsClean background – required for government sitesValid driver's license and U.S. citizenship – required for government sites
