CNC Machinist

Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio .


Overview


The role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, performing inspections, maintaining quality, and ensuring production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality procedures.


Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Perform first-piece inspections and maintain quality on all parts.
• Follow job work instructions and quality procedures.
• Deburr parts and meet daily production goals.
• Edit G-code programs.
• Help meet deadlines and complete orders in order of precedence.
• Maintain a clean work area using 5S principles.
• Attend and participate in daily tier meetings.
• Track and run jobs in order of precedence.
• Log job information using the SAP system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of CNC experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Proficiency with measuring devices such as calipers, OD mics, 6 steel ruler, height gauge, and depth mics.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.
