Property AccountantA growing real estate management organization is seeking a Property Accountant to provide accounting support for multi-family and commercial properties.Oversee property accounting, vendor invoice processing, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and cash management.Atlanta, GA – onsite role supporting multiple properties.Hiring immediately to manage property accounting and reporting functions.This role ensures accurate property financials, supports property managers, and provides actionable insights for investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders.Competitive and commensurate with experience.The Property Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for multiple properties, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and analyzing financial data. This role partners with property management, asset management, and external auditors to ensure compliance and timely reporting.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review financial data for accuracy and timelinessEnsure compliance with internal and external reporting guidelines (lender, investors, partners)Review and oversee vendor invoices in accounts payable systemProvide guidance to accounts payable staff on general ledger coding and payroll allocationMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedulesMonitor cash balances and update weekly for accuracyPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on cash or accrual basisAnalyze budget variances, financial statement abnormalities, and provide variance explanationsMaintain supporting schedules for fixed assets, insurance, taxes, etc.Assist with year-end audits and documentationServe as a financial partner to property managers and internal/external stakeholdersQualifications:BS in Accounting or related degree2–3 years of property management or real estate accounting experience, multi-family housing preferredStrong knowledge of GAAPProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelAttention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervisionStrong oral and written communication skillsBenefits:Competitive compensationOpportunities for professional growthCollaborative, team-oriented environment
