EHS ManagerKratos Industries is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability function across our manufacturing facilities. This is a senior program leadership role with direct accountability for EHS strategy, regulatory compliance, cultural development, and team growth.This person will serve as the primary EHS authority for the organization — establishing governance frameworks, owning all written programs, leading incident investigations, managing regulatory relationships, and building the infrastructure necessary for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, the EHS Manager is embedded in the business — participating in capital project planning, facility expansion decisions, new product introduction, and operational reviews from the outset rather than after decisions are made.As Kratos grows, the EHS Manager will build and lead a team of EHS professionals and is expected to be a succession candidate for expanded EHS leadership responsibilities.This role is the right fit for an EHS professional who is ready to take ownership of a complete multi-site program — including the leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional influence that entails.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProgram Ownership & GovernanceOwn and maintain all written EHS programs and procedures including LOTO, HazCom, PPE, Emergency Action Plan, machine guarding, PIT, confined space, fall prevention, ergonomics, and contractor safetyEstablish and enforce the approved chemicals list — no new chemical enters any Kratos facility without EHS review and approvalDesign and govern the JHA program — set risk methodology, approve elevated and critical-risk JHAs, and ensure all JHAs are completed through field observationOwn the CAPA process — define the process, govern 30-day closure timelines, and review all CAPAs for systemic root cause patternsMaintain all regulatory calendars (OSHA, EPA, DOT) and ensure timely compliance with all reporting and posting obligationsIncident Investigation & Regulatory ReportingLead all incident investigations for serious, recordable, and high-potential events across all facilitiesMaintain the OSHA 300 log, post the 300A annual summary, and file all required OSHA agency notifications within mandated timeframes — including 8-hour and 24-hour reporting requirements for severe injuriesReport all recordable incidents to the company's insurance carrier and manage open claim relationshipsEnsure corrective actions from investigations are tracked to verified closure within 30 daysCross-Functional Partnership & Proactive Risk ReductionPartner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify and eliminate recurring risks at the source — not just document and respond to themEmbed EHS review into new product introduction (NPI), capital equipment acquisition, and facility layout planning from the earliest stages — before designs are finalizedParticipate in automation and industrialization planning to ensure EHS controls are engineered in, not retrofitted after deploymentSupport facility expansion and layout changes from an EHS standpoint — including egress, hazard segregation, emergency response access, and compliance readiness for new operationsServe as the EHS voice in operational reviews, proactively surfacing risk trends and recommending systemic countermeasures rather than reacting to individual eventsElectrical Safety ProgramOwn the company's electrical safety program in full — including NFPA 70E compliance, energized electrical work permit process, and arc flash hazard analysis across all facilitiesMaintain arc flash labeling and ensure equipment is properly evaluated and labeled; coordinate with Engineering to schedule arc flash studies as facility configurations changeManage the energized work permit program — define permit conditions, approval authority, and required PPE tiers based on incident energy analysisPartner closely with Engineering and Test during equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and high-voltage/high-amperage testing activities to ensure appropriate controls are in place before work beginsOwn electrical safety training requirements and coordinate with the Training Department on delivery for electrically qualified and unqualified persons per NFPA 70E definitionsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentHire, onboard, and develop a team of EHS Specialists and Coordinators as the organization growsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to facility-level EHS staffDefine role scope, set performance expectations, and ensure consistent program delivery across all sitesSafety Training — Program OversightCollaborate with the Training Department to design and deploy the EHS training program — EHS owns content standards and compliance requirements; Training primarily leads delivery infrastructure.Ensure all regulatory and program-specific training requirements are identified, assigned, and met by role and departmentFor specialized EHS training where subject matter expertise is required (e.g., LOTO, HazCom, incident investigation), EHS may deliver training directly or in partnership with TrainingMonitor training completion rates across all facilities and drive accountability for gapsMetrics, Reporting & Strategic PlanningOwn all EHS performance metrics — TRIR (FR2T), LTIR, EMR, and leading indicators including near-miss rates, training completion, and inspection activityPrepare and present EHS content for monthly management reviews and KOS/KPI dashboardsReport to Division Director of EHS/CSR as required by corporate standardsDrive annual EHS goal-setting aligned with the company's multi-phase EHS improvement roadmapISO 45001 & ISO 14001 ImplementationLead gap assessment for both ISO certifications and develop a documented implementation roadmapBuild required elements: risk assessment documentation, worker participation structure, environmental aspects register, internal audit capability, and management review integrationServe as primary point of contact for certification bodies during pre-audit and audit activitiesEnvironmental Compliance & SustainabilityOwn all environmental programs: regulated waste management, stormwater, Tier II reporting, and air permit compliance as applicableBuild the data infrastructure for ESG and sustainability reporting in alignment with future customer and corporate expectationsEnsure environmental compliance at all facilities and maintain required regulatory recordsSafety Culture & Safety CommitteeLead or co-chair the Kratos Safety Committee and ensure safety is the first agenda item at all management-level meetingsSustain a near-miss and hazard observation (Safety Saves / Good Catches) program with measurable year-over-year growth in participationOwn and continuously improve the EHS new hire orientation program framework across all facilitiesQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related technical fieldMinimum 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience managing multi-hazard environments including welding, chemical handling, energized electrical work, or powered industrial vehiclesWorking knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and EPA regulatory requirementsExperience leading incident investigations using structured root cause analysis methodologiesWorking knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety program managementStrong written and verbal communication skills — able to author technical programs, present to leadership, and write regulatory correspondencePreferredCSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP credential, or active pursuit thereofExperience leading or supporting ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 implementationExperience managing or developing direct reports in an EHS functionKnowledge of DOT hazardous materials shipping requirementsFamiliarity with OSHA VPP program elementsBilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required for this rolePhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentPhysical demands
