Restaurant Service Assistant - Persimmons Bar & Grill - PT (19 hours or less per week)

Job Summary

Responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Greets guest, cleans tables, delivers food and assist servers. Collaborates with other restaurant staff to foster efficient service.

Essential Functions

1. Welcomes guests and is aware of all entrances to patio and dining area.

2. Ensures guests are greeted promptly by communicating with service staff and assisting as needed.

3. Informs customers of promotions and notifies them of assigned server.

4. Manages patron wait list and reservation list as needed.

5. Helps to answer phones and routes calls promptly that require supervisor attention.

6. Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies.

7. Helps dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water and serving beverages as needed.

8. Helps in running food as needed during high volume times.

9. Performs related duties as assigned.

10. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.

11. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Ability to think and communicate clearly in high pressure situations.

Ability to move quickly and gracefully throughout the dining room.

Demonstrates basic math skills with excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills.

Knowledgeable of the menu, ingredients and cooking techniques.

Knowledgeable of drink recipes and pricing.

Ability to confidently make food and beverage pairing recommendations.

Knowledgeable of pre-check register operation.

Knowledgeable of computer operations and ordering procedures.

Knowledgeable of basic sanitation.

Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.

Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years old.

Previous serving and/or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check.

Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, and functional assessment screening (Level 2).
