School Social Work Intern - 26-27 School Year JobID: 7564 Position Type: Student Services - Certified/ Social Work Intern Date Posted: 1/28/2026 Location: York Community High School Description York Community High School is seeking school social work interns for the 2026-27 school year. This full-year internship gives school social work students the opportunity to gain experience working with students in a wide variety of settings and situations, as well as exposure to school-wide systems of support. Interns will work with a primary site supervisor to gain exposure in the following settings; Coordinating the implementation of tiered interventions for students based on York's MTSS framework. Leading small group interventions for academic and social-emotional concerns. Completing social-emotional learning assessments. Providing individual counseling to students across academic and social-emotional domains. Case Management for "at‑risk" students. Collaborating with student support teams, IEP support teams, and Professional Learning Community teams to facilitate student success. Co‑facilitating workshops and classroom lessons on the counseling curriculum. Assisting school counselors in the development and maintenance of an effective school counseling program consistent with the school's mission. Reviewing school data for evidence that the school social work program is meeting the academic, social/emotional, and postsecondary needs of all students. Interpreting student data and initiating related student programs. Supporting teacher/parent communication and community involvement. Assisting students in conflict resolution. Referring students to intervention/remediation programs, as well as academic and alternative programs, to ensure academic success and personal well‑being. Referring students to appropriate school personnel and community agencies. Attending meetings (e.g., problem‑solving, IEP, and 504 meetings). Participating in parent/teacher conferences. Serving as a resource for school personnel and parents. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Concurrent Enrollment in a certified school social work graduate program.
