He/she is responsible for manual cleaning and decontamination; operating the mechanical washers and sonic units; testing autoclaves for efficiency and maintaining compliant records; He/she assists in the recall process as needed. As a certified technician, the technician will also assist in the education and training of other staff (e.g., new hires) with respect to quality assurance, performance improvement, and departmental compliance. Responsibilities Performs Decontamination Procedure According to Policy. Performs Sterilization Procedure According to departmental Policy. Maintains Patient Equipment. Assists with the Education/Training of Staff Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent. Experience : 6 months minimum required as CS/SPD Tech or other relevant License : N/A Certification : CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required. Certification must be up to date and kept current.
