Nuclear Medicine Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs to create diagnostic images
Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately
Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, patient data/history)
Ensure equipment is properly functioning; report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel
Lock/tag out equipment as appropriate
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department

Experience Required

2 years of relevant experience

Skills & Certifications

Nuclear Medicine imaging and camera operation
Radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration
Radiation safety protocols
Patient positioning and diagnostic imaging techniques

Eligibilities & qualifications

PACS documentation and image quality management
