What You Will Do

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible to coordinate the activities necessary for the completion of all production plans. Supervise, train, coordinate, and distribute tasks among all employees for the operation. Assure proper maintenance of facilities manufacturing equipment, in a compliance environment of a 24 hours / 7 days operation. Support the development of special projects and initiatives established by the Company's' Business Plan. Review (when required) and approve the manufacturing and packaging records.

Key Responsibilities : Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, and Kenvue policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:

• Ensures quality and compliance in all actions:
  • All employees:
    • Attends GMP trainings on the schedule designated for the role and as appropriate for the role.
    • Adheres to strict compliance with procedures applicable to the role.
    • Exercises the highest level of integrity in the tasks performed.
    • In a timely and prompt manner, identifies, reports and seeks correction for deviations noted in the workplace.
    • Embraces a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time.
  • People Managers:
    • Ensures employees under the scope of responsibility are trained in required procedures for the execution of their role and maintains current with training requirements during the year.
    • Promotes an environment of employee involvement in the workplace.
    • Seeks prompt identification, reporting and correction of deviations in the workplace as noted by employees.

• Assures s are discussed with employees within the first five days of hiring, when the s have been revised or as needed, and submits the attendance sheet to the administrative assistant/coordinator of the area for processing. (Applicable only to the supervisory level)

• Assures trainings in the assigned tasks have been delivered prior to execution.

• Acts in accordance to the principles expressed in Our Credo and the Quality Statement in all negotiations and activities within and outside the company, and assures these are met.

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS): Comply with the requirements established in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program and the ISO 14001 Standard, including:

• Complies with EHS trainings, policies and procedures.

• Maintains a safe area and work environment by following and encouraging the following rules and procedures:
  • Use of the personal protection equipment
  • Fire protection
  • Spill reporting (includes hazardous waste), incidents and/or “near misses”
  • Environmental compliance with permits and action plans (applies to supervisors and managers)
  • Complies with specific EHS program requirements (i.e, forklift operations, Ergonomics Program, LockOut/TagOut, and Process Safety Management) as applicable.

• Generates, encourages and assists peers/employees in EHS involvement in all changes that affect safety and environmental (applies to exempts, supervisors and managers).

• Generates metrics and verifies employees' participation in all EHS initiatives and requirements. (applies to supervisors).

• Promotes employee participation in the activities and requirements of the site's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), Process Safety Management and other initiatives in the EHS program (applies to management level).

• Participates in the site's waste reduction and recycling program.

• Participates in energy reduction and other initiatives to protect and promote environmental protection.

• Guarantees his/her behavior is safe in the work area.

• Actively participates to achieve the organization's EHS goals/objectives.

• Monitors the EHS performance within the work area (applies to supervisors and managers).

• Adheres to the EHS business plan for the work area.

• Notifies and/or initiates corrective action plans for unsafe working conditions or risks in the work area.

• Immediately notifies the supervisor of any incident or accident that occurs in the company, including injury and/or occupational illness. The supervisor/manager submits an Incident Report within 24 hours of the accident.

• Actively participates in the Ergonomic Exercise Program of the work area.

• Provides the necessary resources and assures to complete on time any safety related matter (applies to supervisors and managers).

Area Responsibilities:

• Coordinates daily activities of the department such as:
  • Assigns instructions to the Operators and Mechanics Operators during their shifts, for the executing of the Production Plan.
  • Coordinates equipment maintenance and assures the supply of materials, machinery and other necessary equipment, to ensure the efficiency of the operation.

• Conducts daily meetings during his/her shift, to discuss with employees the relevant aspects of the business and the department.

• Actively participates in tactical meetings, to develop an executable production plan, control operational costs and maximize efficiencies.

• Coordinates the activities necessary to implement the production plan with different process supervisors, staff and other departments.

• Ensures the processes under his/her responsibility comply with the Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Environmental requirements, established by the company and regulatory agencies.

• Ensures the necessary preventive or corrective measures are taken, to prevent/solve operational or quality problems, through the generation of work orders.

• Promotes and monitors the "Housekeeping Program" of his/her area and surrounding areas at all times.

• Ensures staff in charge carries through all the transactions and required documentation on time and accurately.

• Facilitates and documents diligently, the clarification and resolution of incidents/deviations, during the manufacturing process.

• Participates in the development and implementation of action plans, resulting from internal and external audits.

• Coordinates and supervises subcontracted/technical work in the areas, to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.

• Selects, hires, evaluates, supervises, takes disciplinary action, develops, rewards and coordinates vacation schedule of employees that are under his/her responsibility.

• Trains or coordinates the required training, to ensure the efficient operation of his/her area of responsibility.

• Handles emergency medical situations and follows the procedures of the Company, in the event the Nurse is not available.

• Ensures the implementation of required preventive and corrective/emergency maintenance, for the proper operation of equipment (including the generation of work orders and their completion).

• Supports the Operators in the execution of the assigned tasks and ensures compliance with the "Operator Asset Care” principles.

• Executes on a yearly basis, Efficiency Assessments using FMECA and Reliability Engineering techniques.

• Packaging Supervisor executes the line/area confirmation after the cleaning inspection of the line/area (Major and Minor Cleaning) and prior to the line/area clearance by QA.

• Ensures compliance with the ISO14001 Standard.

• Dispose adequately the papers or any other recyclable material generated during their tasks execution to avoid an increasing of non-hazardous waste.

• Promotes and encourage employees to have commitment and alignment to the organization's environmental policy.

• Participates in cross-training initiatives as part of the flexible workforce / development strategy, and provides support when needed, in other departments or roles within the operations area.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; preferable in Engineering, Administration or Natural Sciences
• From one (1) to three (3) years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferable.
• Experience working as a Supervisor or leader role.
• Proficiency in English/Spanish is required (oral and written).
• This position is to work on the 3rd shift
• Able to travel in and outside of Puerto Rico.
• Able to work extra hours and to respond to emergency calls that require returning to the company, and to work alternate shifts.
• Available to work in other areas, according to business strategies.

Desired Qualifications

• Sedentary work that requires minimum effort.
• It also requires skills in communication, eye-hand coordination, ability to move and manual skills.
• Tolerance to the use of personal protective equipment for respiratory airways.
• In occasions, climbing, kneeling and stooping. Occasionally requires movements of objects such as: lifting, pushing, loading and hauling. Requires near visual acuity and hearing, medium and distant.
