We are an elite team of engineering professionals that pioneer innovations for the cutting-edge microprocessors and hardware used in IBM infrastructure including IBM zSystems, IBM Power Systems, IBM Storage, and IBM Quantum Systems. Development engineers participate in various aspects of the development, test, and support process, such as:Logic (RTL) design and verification, physical design, and analog/IO designElectronic design automationSignal integrity, power integrity, and analysisMicroelectronics packagingMaterials analysis and characterizationMechanical design, modeling and technology integrationCircuit design / electrical designPrinted circuit board physical design and layoutThermal design and testingVoltage regulation and power deliveryPerformance modelingProcessor and system test and validationProcessor, component, and system characterizationCustomer and field engineering supportFirmware architecture, development, and test failure analysisProduct quality, assurance, specification and analyticsCandidates with at least three months of computer or electrical engineering experience of designing or manufacturing hardware products are preferred. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and architecture (FPGAs, RISC-V, ARM, MIPS), programming languages (C/C++/C#, Python, or Java), hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog), and circuit simulation tools (SPICE) is preferred.Required technical and professional expertise:• Strong background in Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Power Point / Microsoft Office Suite * Leadership experience * Excellent oral and written communication skills• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Optics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering or related majors.• Prior (project or internship) experience in computer hardware or testing.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Passion for technology and engineering.• Growth minded, trusted, team focused, courageous, resourceful, and outcome focused.Preferred technical and professional experience:• Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: Exposure to mechanical engineering principles and practices in the development of hardware and technology products.• Electrical Engineering Understanding: Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and their application in server systems, storage systems, and networking systems.• Firmware Engineering Exposure: Experience working with firmware engineering principles and practices in the development of hardware and technology products.IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
