QUALITY ENGINEER II (Aerospace/Defense)

Requisition ID: 1540 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Range: $95,000 - $120,000 Position Summary Ensure consistent quality of production by supporting activities with the Business Management System. Implement customer contractual requirements through timely contract review and configuration management processes. Act quickly when potential non-conformances are found by supporting material review board huddles and facilitating corrective action. Lead continuous improvement activities, gather data, and analyze product defect trends and process metrics to stay current with new technologies and methods related to Quality Assurance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review customer requirements and ensure they are met. Participate in and lead closed‑loop root‑cause and corrective action activities. Dispositio’n non-conforming material. Identify and initiate continuous improvement opportunities. Assemble and review end‑item data packages before customer submittal. Perform contract, purchase order, planning, and supplier data reviews to ensure quality requirements are captured and flowed down. Contribute to a team environment, be flexible, and volunteer support to meet team goals. Collaborate with program management, engineering, purchasing, production control, operations, and inspection. Monitor program quality performance and facilitate process improvement projects to maintain acceptable standards. Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) reviews. Skills and Requirements Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Strong background in Corrective Action, Lean Tools, and problem solving. General understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings. Ability to interpret and understand customer and industry specifications (ISO, ASME, MIL STD, MS, etc.). Excellent verbal and technical writing communication skills. Provide project leadership for process improvement initiatives. Understanding of configuration management principles and practices. Experience with Quality Engineering tools (Cause Map, Fish Bone analysis, PFMEA, Six Sigma, SPC, etc.). Strong presentation and organizational skills. Prior background that includes machining, assembly, and inspection is desirable. Attention to detail and self‑starter attitude. Green Belt training is a plus. Familiarity with SAP is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Work Environment Medium‑to‑large office environment. Fast‑paced office environment. Moderate noise level. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments.
