About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Scott AFB Bowling Center.

This is a Flexible position, guaranteed 0-40 hours.

Duties

Help

Assists in cleaning, oiling, and polishing the bowling lanes. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned. Assists in making minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary, and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Assists in maintaining stock levels.

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

Knowledge in the maintenance of bowling lanes. Must be able to use, control and clean common hand tools and heavy powered equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.

Education

This position does not allow for education substitution.

• Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
