Job Description IT Support Specialist Location: Portland, OR Pay: $25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift Employment Type: 6 Month Contract with Potential for Permanent Hire Who We Are: We are partnering with an established manufacturing company looking for a dependable, tech savvy IT Support Specialist to join their team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and keeping technology running smoothly. You will be joining an existing IT team as their third team member, helping manage the daily workload and supporting employees throughout the organization. We are looking for someone who is hands on, enjoys variety, and can jump in wherever needed. One minute you might be troubleshooting a computer issue, the next you are setting up a new employee or helping with an IT project! Important to Know: This is a 6 month contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent. While there is potential for long term employment, a permanent position is not guaranteed. What You'll Do:

• Manage and prioritize incoming Help Desk tickets, responding to employee technical issues in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and operating system problems
• Set up, configure, and deploy computers, laptops, and other IT equipment
• Support new employee onboarding, including computer setup, keycards, user accounts, and access permissions
• Monitor and verify system backups to help ensure company data is protected
• Assist with hardware and software installations, upgrades, and updates
• Support IT projects involving cabling, equipment replacement, and system improvements
• Maintain accurate inventories of computers, software, hardware, and user equipment
• Assist with Active Directory, Microsoft applications, and general user access management
• Help maintain IT documentation, equipment records, and system information
• Provide friendly, professional technical support to employees across multiple departments
• Work closely with the existing IT team to reduce downtime and keep daily operations running smoothly

What You Need to Have:

• Minimum 2 years of IT Help Desk or technical support experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills with computers, hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Experience setting up computers, user accounts, and employee workstations
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Active Directory and user access permissions
• Basic understanding of networking, computer hardware, and IT infrastructure
• Experience working with Help Desk tickets and prioritizing multiple technical requests
• Ability to assist with computer backups, hardware updates, and software installations
• Strong customer service skills and the patience to assist employees with varying levels of technical knowledge
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
• Comfortable working in an office and manufacturing environment

Bonus Points: Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, network management, IT inventory systems, or manufacturing IT support. The Musts: We need someone who can hit the ground running! This team is bringing on a third IT professional to help manage their current workload, so previous hands on Help Desk experience is essential. You must be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, setting up new computers and employees, managing user access, and jumping into various IT projects as needed. Most importantly, we want someone who is dependable, resourceful, and genuinely enjoys helping people.
