Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
• Develop and implement tailored therapy programs aligned with individual needs and goals
• Collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, families, and caregivers to coordinate care plans
• Provide direct speech therapy services to pediatric populations in school or clinical settings
• Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly
• Educate patients and their families on techniques to support ongoing communication development
• Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards

Experience

• Prior school experience working with children in educational settings is highly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatrics and early intervention programs
• Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques across various communication disorders
• Familiarity with physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology
• Proven ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans
• Passion for patient care with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Knowledge of current best practices in speech therapy and early childhood development

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Evaluation report completion within required timelines.
• SOAP note completion timeliness and quality.
• Billing accuracy and weekly invoice submission.
• Attendance documentation and compliance (no-show/late cancellations).
• Caregiver education and home-program carryover implementation.
• Interdisciplinary coordination participation (including OT co-treatments when appropriate).
• Responsiveness to email/Signal communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current New Mexico SLP license required.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or eligibility pathway for CF-SLP).
• Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with AAC, pediatric language disorders, and caregiver coaching preferred.
