Mammography TechnologistThe Mammography Technologist operates radiologic equipment and performs mammography procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. The mammography tech is responsible for detecting breast tissue abnormalities by completing mammographic imaging studies; presenting them for diagnosis.Essential Functions:Perform/produce quality radiography and mammography exams in a safe and proper manner with all patientsTakes general x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safetyScans all necessary documents into the appropriate database for interpretation from the radiologistApplies principals of radiation to minimize exposure to patients, self, and othersOther Job Related Functions:Practices aseptic/sterile techniques to prevent cross contamination. Clean the exam room and equipment after use and/or every patientOperates imaging equipment and other related radiology equipment such as computers, copier, scanners, fax machine, and printerMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and proceduresAssist with registering patients, scheduling appointments, and importing and exporting CD's and reportsAssist coworkers with their dutiesOther duties as assigned by Radiology Director and Chief Information OfficerJob Requirements and Qualifications:Must have received a Certificate of completion from an allied health education and accreditation (AMA) accredited radiology program which meets requirements of the American Registry of Radiological TechnologistMust be a certified mammography technologist with 40 hours of training, completed 15 CMEs in the past 3 years, and have performed 200 mammograms in the previous 24 months1+ year of experience performing screening and diagnostic mammograms1+ year of experience in radiology settingMust have excellent oral/written communication skillsMust have reliable transportationAdditional Information:Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.11 paid holidays per year.Full benefits package.Public Service Loan Forgiveness.We believe that health care is right and not a privilege.
