Surgical Technologist 1 (Surg Tech)

Inova Fairfax Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join the team. This role will be full-time varied shifts | Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Available. Job Responsibilities: * The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. * Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure. * Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases. * Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment; sterilizes before procedures, as necessary, and verifies instruments as sterile.

• Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique.
• Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and

sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card. * May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required
