Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A nationally recognized cardiovascular program is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its outpatient Cardiac Surgery practice on a long-term contract assignment.

This opportunity offers a highly collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional care to preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients. Providers will work alongside experienced cardiac surgeons and advanced practice professionals in a well-supported outpatient setting.

Position Highlights:

• Outpatient-only practice
• No call responsibilities
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Consistent weekday schedule
• Long-term assignment available through March 2027
• Collaborative multidisciplinary cardiac surgery team
• Strong clinical and administrative support

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage preoperative cardiac surgery patients
• Conduct postoperative follow-up visits
• Provide patient education and care coordination
• Monitor recovery and optimize surgical outcomes
• Perform minor postoperative procedures as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with surgeons and advanced practice colleagues

Qualifications:

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active New Jersey license required
• Current CDS and DEA required
• Cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or related surgical experience preferred
