Nurse Practitioner PRN

Job Summary This position provides Nurse Practitioner coverage across multiple sites on the Wasatch Front, including SLC, Ogden, and Provo. Providers may work on-campus shifts and on-call hours for additional pay. The role is within the College of Nursing’s Practice and Community Collaboration, offering flexible, self-determined practice settings. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical examinations to identify normal and abnormal changes associated with health, injury, and disease states. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures and tests for acute and common primary care conditions. Develop differential diagnoses based on clinical and laboratory data. Differentiating common primary care problems and other deviations from normal, recognizing emergency situations and initiating emergency care/triage. Provide general health care, including health promotion, maintenance, and restoration. Initiate health promotion and disease‑prevention strategies considering age, developmental status, disability, culture, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Provide individualized client teaching and counseling regarding identified problems, disease states, and social/cultural circumstances. Comply with medical records policies for complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Participate in quality improvement activities. Function as preceptor for undergraduate and graduate students. Perform other relevant duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, or ATLS (may be required by department privilege criteria). Utah State prescriptive privileges. Completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalence with national certification. Eligibility to obtain applicable credentialing and privileging at time of hire. Immunization according to CDC standards (exceptions may be made for documented contraindications or religious beliefs). Proof of ability to perform essential functions of the job.
