Location: Gadsden, AL, US Salary Range: $12.00 to $15.00 hourly Summary of Responsibilities The Psychiatric Technician performs routine patient care duties in a variety of units including Child & Adolescent Acute Care, Adult Acute Care, Residential, and Outpatient Units. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; current driver license. Experience working with and knowledge of psychiatric patients preferred. Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively with other staff. Physical Requirements Heavy lifting up to 70 pounds. Pulling and reaching above shoulder height. Ability to process and respond to written and verbal instruction and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Special Qualifications Must work in conjunction with other staff in a supportive manner while adhering to safety protocols and patient rights. Duties and Responsibilities Assists the LPN and RN in overall management of the milieu. Provides care tailored to patients, considering safety, rights, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Remains in patient areas whenever possible, observing behaviors and notifying nursing staff when needed. Assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation) and encourages independent behavior when appropriate. Collects vital signs, height, weight, and specimens as directed. Assists patients during mealtime and records intake. Assists with patient trips outside the hospital as directed. Serves as a role model for patients and co‑workers. Assists with seclusion and physical restraints under RN supervision. Demonstrates awareness of and follows policies on contraband, sharps, and search procedures to promote a safe, drug‑free environment. Interacts with patients and staff in a professional manner. Demonstrates competence in day‑to‑day scheduling of duties, completing tasks in a timely manner with minimal assistance. Recognizes and performs unassigned duties regularly, helping co‑workers as needed. Abides by personnel policies and procedures of the hospital. #J-18808-Ljbffr
