At MGM Resorts, we seek individuals like YOU to create unique and show-stopping experiences for our guests.**THE JOB:** The Lead Gardener position is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Horticulture operations of the property to ensure that all indoor and outdoor landscape areas are well-maintained and visually appealing.**THE STARTING RATE:** $23.39 hourly **THE DAY-TO-DAY:*** Responsible for always maintaining the MGMRI standards of service to guests and coworkers.* Ensures the principal duties and responsibilities of horticulture classifications are properly performed.* Drive and operate company vehicles, and/or Horticulture related equipment to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment.* Direct daily assignments while working with the crew on tasks, events or projects, or any horticulture related duties; troubleshoot and shift priorities as needed.* Communicate, plan and follow up on assignments with managers and stakeholders.* Perform regular site inspections in areas of responsibility to prioritize workload, including shift coverage and design work as needed.* Assist with purchasing duties and maintain inventory while coordinating with management for budgetary and tracking purposes.* Assist with teaching laborers and gardeners on proper Horticulture practices and industry standards.* Clean and maintain gardening tools, equipment, and supply areas to ensure good working conditions.* Follow MGMRI policies and procedures for mobile devices to include work order creation, response, and completion.* Inspect the work area to identify and correct any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:*** Have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent* Has 2+ Years of prior relevant experience related experience* Have a two year degree or certificate in Ornamental Horticulture or related field - Preferred* Has 2+ Years of prior relevant experience/Supervisory experience - Preferred* Has 2+ Years of prior relevant experience in high end/high volume horticulture environments - Preferred* Has 4+ Years of prior relevant experience working in Commercial landscape maintenance or Resort environment - Preferred* Experience operating a forklift, Boom/scissor lift, Bobcat, Backhoe - Preferred* Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays - Preferred**THE PERKS & BENEFITS:*** Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentally* Access to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more* Free parking on and off shift* Health & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)* Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community**VIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:** you ready to **JOIN THE SHOW**?
